"Huqin Meets Jazz: A Musical Dialogue" is a music project centred on the traditional Chinese huqin, showcasing its distinctive timbre and rich cultural diversity. The huqin plays a vital role in Chinese regional music, evolving into various unique styles across different regions, including instruments like the erhu and gaohu. This project uses the huqin as a starting point to reimagine Chinese traditional music, popular music, and jazz standards through jazz-inspired arrangements. By blending the traditional with the modern, it explores the possibilities of integrating the huqin with Western musical genres.
